Aldeia da Pedralva, a rural village in the municipality of Vila do Bispo, which was once inhabited by 100 people, has begun a painful process of desertification over the last 25 years.

In 2006, when we found this village, it had only 9 original inhabitants, and a group of around 50 houses in an advanced state of ruin. Only nine of these houses met minimum conditions for habitability.

The "Sitio da Pedralva" Restaurant is a must-see gastronomic stop on the Costa Vicentina.

"Sitio da Pedralva" specialises in Pedralva-style codfish in bread and black pork skewers accompanied by homemade French fries.

The Aldeia da Pedralva, which aims to be an Active Village Tourism, also offers an Activities Center with 30 bicycles and more than 300 km of Mountain Bike trails, a surf school and many other nature activities.
